4. Who we share your data with
We only share personal data with organisations that help us run the website and our business, and only as far as needed. These include:
- Website hosting and maintenance providers, who store the website and its data on secure servers.
- Email delivery provider (SendLayer), which delivers the messages sent from our website forms to our inbox.
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, Google Maps and Google Fonts), for analytics and for the map and fonts shown on our pages.
- WPMU DEV, which provides website security, performance and analytics tools used on this site.

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on safeguards recognised under GDPR, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We use the following on this website:
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors so we can measure how the website is used | 2 years |
| _ga_6M4P5CTRX2 | Google Analytics | Keeps the state of your visit (session) for our analytics reports | 2 years |
| _pk_id.* | Matomo (via WPMU DEV Analytics) | Recognises returning visitors for site analytics | 13 months |
| _pk_ses.* | Matomo (via WPMU DEV Analytics) | Keeps track of a single visit | 30 minutes |
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand which pages are visited and how people find us. It receives your IP address, device and browser information and the pages you view. Google may use this data in line with its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Managing cookies. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; the website will still work, although some features may be affected. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data about you by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and you can manage Google advertising settings at adssettings.google.com.
Pages that show a Google Map or use Google Fonts load content from Google, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
6. How long we keep your data
- Enquiries and correspondence: kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards, normally up to 24 months, unless we begin working together.
- Customer and project records: kept for as long as we have a business relationship with you and for the periods required by Irish tax, accounting and legal rules (generally six years).
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.
- Analytics data: kept in Google Analytics for the retention period set in our account (up to 14 months) and in Matomo for the period set in our WPMU DEV account.
7. Security
We use sensible technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls, firewall and malware protection, and regular backups and updates. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to erase your data in certain circumstances;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances;
